We handle personal data in three situations.
If you book a call, we collect the name, email address and any details you enter into the booking form. Bookings are handled by Calendly, and the call itself may be recorded and transcribed by Fathom where you are told at the start of the call and can decline. We use this to speak to you and to follow up. Our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry, or performance of a contract if you become a client.
If you enter your email address to get the free Claude Code course, we store that address so we can send you the course and occasional related emails. Our basis is your consent. Form submissions are processed by Netlify. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.
We run outbound campaigns for ourselves and on behalf of clients. This means we may hold business contact details for people in roles relevant to what is being offered, typically name, job title, employer, work email address and public professional profile, together with publicly reported company information such as funding, hiring activity, published news and technology in use.
This data comes from business data providers and public sources, not from consumer lists. We hold it on the basis of legitimate interests: contacting a named person in a professional capacity about something relevant to their role. We assess that this is a low-privacy-impact use of business contact details, and you can object at any time and we will stop.
We do not buy or use consumer data, we do not collect special category data, and we do not make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you.
We do not cold call. We contact people by email and LinkedIn only. We do not hold or enrich phone numbers for outreach.
We use service providers who process data on our behalf under contract. The main ones are:
Some of these are based outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK we rely on the provider’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard. We do not sell personal data.
Where we run campaigns for a client, that client is the controller for their own campaign data and we act as their processor.
Prospect data is kept while a campaign is active and reviewed periodically after that. If you ask us to stop contacting you we keep the minimum needed, usually your email address and domain, on a suppression list so we do not contact you again by mistake. Enquiry and client records are kept for as long as we need them for the relationship and for our legal and accounting obligations.
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we relied on it. To exercise any of these, email mike@prospectology.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
To stop hearing from us: reply to any message asking us to stop, or email the address above. We will add you to our suppression list and you will not be contacted again.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority.
This site sets no cookies, runs no advertising trackers and loads no third-party scripts. Fonts and images are served from this domain. If we add analytics later, this notice will be updated first.
